GQ_0C1_NOUPC-hi-res

After the infamous #KimYe Vogue cover that had the world swooning, Kanye West is now gracing his second fashion cover this year.
The Chicago rapper is on GQ’s cover for their August issue, and though he appears solo, according to the cover’s teaser he opens up about his recent wedding to Kim Kardashian.
“Kanye West tells us how to grow up, survive a wedding, stay outrageous, and dress like a god,” the cover reads. The Yeezy issue will drop on July 29 so keep an eye on those newsstands.

For his this GQ cover, Ye rocks a plain white tee, two thin gold chains and a velvety, camel-colored blazer. Oh, and his god-level frown. This is Kanye’s second time gracing the magazine’s cover—he first appeared on GQ’s cover back in 2007.

Andre Ayew among best Brazil 2014 goals

Andre Ayew's strike against USA among best Brazil 2014 goals

FIFA has shortlisted Ghana winger Andre Ayew’s goal against the United States for the best goal at the 2014 World Cup.

The Black Stars goal against the Yanks is among the 15 goals selected by FIFA’s panel of experts for the best goal of the competition which ended last week in Brazil.

Fans across the globe are being given the chance to vote for the best goal of the tournament which means Ghanaians and Africans can get to vote the Ayew’s goal.

That is because Ayew’s goal in the only African goal among the best goals in the competition with five African countries participating.

Ghana may have lost 2-1 to the United States in its opening Group G match inFortaleza but Ayew could be a winner from the sad episode.

His goal, which briefly brought the two teams level, has been selected by FIFA’s experts in a shortlist for Goal of the Tournament of Brazil 2014.

The goal consisted of a pass into the left hand channel from Kwadwo Asamoah, a sublime back-heeled pass from captain Asamoah Gyan and a shot with the outside of the left boot of Ayew after he controlled the pass.

But it was not enough to save Ghana as a few minutes later John Brook connected a corner to win the match for the Americans.

Fans have the opportunity to choose the strike that tops the lot from the World Cup and will succeed Diego Forlan’s sweet volley against South African from the last World Cup.

However, Ayew’s goal faces strong competition from the classy volley fromColombia’s James Rodriguez against Uruguay, Robin Van Persie’s audacious header against Spain, the unstoppable free-kick from David Luizagainst Colombia, Tim Cahill’s first-time volley against Holland, World Cup winner Andre Schurlle’s left-footed angled shot against Brazil and a host of many others including Lionel Messi’s free kick against Nigeria.

Obuasi Methodist Bishop “demon possessed”

Obuasi Methodist Bishop “demon possessed” – Allotey Jacobs

Source: Adomonline.com

Allotey Jacobs 02Nov2010
Central Regional Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has fired a salvo at the Methodist Bishop of Obuasi Diocese for criticizing President Mahama.
He indicated that the reason behind Rt. Rev. Stephen Richard Bosomtwe-Ayensu’s critique of the Mahama-led administration is because he is “demon possessed”.

The Methodist Bishop has been critical of the Mahama-led administration for failing to find an antidote to the deteriorating economic conditions in the country.

He believes President Mahama’s inability to redeem the much touted Better Ghana Agenda is an affront to his administration.

Rev. Bosomtwe-Ayensu was particular alarmed when the president in spite of the economic situation presented 13 four wheel drive cars to the National House of Chiefs at the expense of the suffering masses.

He was convinced it was an attempt to bribe the chiefs and coerce them to kowtow to his [Mahama] whips and caprices.

The Methodist Bishop’s critique has angered members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who say he is doing the bidden of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In the same vein, a livid Allotey Jacobs on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Friday likened the conduct of the Methodist Bishop to a “doomsayer”.

Recognizing the fact that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, he said the penchant of Rev. Bosomtwe-Ayensu to use the pulpit to propagate his partisan agenda is sickening.

Allotey Jacobs believes the Methodist Bishop is not “a real man of God because his name Bosomtwi is a name of a deity”.

He called on the Methodist church to as a matter of urgency extricate him [Bosomtwi-Ayensu] from the church to save them the little integrity left.

“This so-called Methodist Bishop is being the name of the church into disrupt. The leadership of the church must take a drastic action before it is too late” he stressed.

Allotey Jacobs urged all members of the NDC to treat the unfortunate comment by the Bishop with disrupt and help government to achieve the Better Ghana Agenda promise.

Gas Wounded Nungua

One person reportedly died while five others sustained various injuries during a gas explosion which occurred at Nungua Zongo in Accra, last Wednesday.

The incident is believed to have been caused by a faulty cylinder that was used in the house of the affected family.

The victims are currently receiving treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.

Narrating what led to the accident, a family member said there was a problem with the stove, so they had challenges using it.

As a result, she said a resident, regarded as the mother of the family, whose name was not given, called a neighbour for assistance.

Unfortunately, she said while the person was fixing the problem, the gas exploded and affected those who were near the place of the incidence.

Briefing the Daily Graphic, a Senior Resident Medical Officer at the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr Elliot Boham, said the victims sustained extensive burns which ranged from 25 to 75 per cent damage to the skin. He, however, added that, they were responding to treatment.

Explaining the treatment to be given to the victims, Dr Boham said they would need initial resuscitation which would cost each person between Ghc700 and Ghc1000.

He explained that dressing the wounds was expensive, and needed to be done every day. However, the family was constrained financially to handle that.

As a result, the unit would do its best to dress their wound every three days.

Officer suspected to have leaked lead

Officer suspected to have leaked Castro’s lead interdicted

The police officer suspected to have leaked a lead from Togo about Theophilus Tagoe, popularly known as Castro D’Destroyer, has been interdicted by the Ghana Police Service.

Corporal Zepherine Awunyo Dogbe was interdicted indefinitely last Wednesday, July 16, TV3 gathers, with her phone seized.

According to reports, she was interdicted on mere suspicion and no hearing has been called since then.

Corporal Dogbe is said to have flouted Service Act 350 (70) which states: “It is a misconduct for a police officer to divulge a confidential information to a person not authorized to receive it.”

“As she is suspected to have divulged a confidential information, a strictly internal communication material, she is interdicted,” said Head of the Service’s Public Affairs Directorate, DSP Cephas Arthur.

The action has infuriated human rights lawyers, who strongly believe the Service erred in interdicting Corporal Dogbe on mere suspicion.

“It is not enough to quickly or hurriedly interdict people on mere suspicion which cannot be substantiated,” said Francis Xavier Kojo Sosu, a human rights lawyer.

“It is important to take into account the right of the police officer to enjoy her service without any intimidation from the Service.”

According to Mr Sosu, this is not a matter of serious security breach as the information on the leaked document is reported false.

Castro was feared drowned on the Volta River on July 6 and after two weeks of search, hopes faded as to whether he will still be alive.

However, a wired message to the Service from its Togolese counterpart, noting that the hiplife artiste was in a hospital in Togo, went viral on social media.

Corporal Dogbe of the Police Information Room is suspected to have leaked the message.

Cocoa Farmers to be paid via E-zwich

Cocoa farmers would in the coming months receive payment for their produce via E-zwich. The Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems is spearheading this after discussions with COCOBOD.

The initiative is expected to enhance and revolutionize the purchasing process in the cocoa industry.

According to GHIPSS, the E-zwich mode of payment should also minimize challenges faced by the farmers such as loss of their monies in the use of physical cash.

The CEO of GHIPSS Archie Hesse tells Joy Business, all is set for a smooth implementation.
“From the roll-out plan, sensitization is about to be carried out for all Licensed Buying Companies (LBC’s). They have all been written to and they are going to come out with a whole program for that. So sometime by the end of July the whole sensitization should be completed.

“What we are saying is that, if each purchasing clerk needs about 400 cedis every week, once all the necessary reviews have been done, you then work backwards from purchasing clerk to the district manager all the way to the LBC. The LBC will then send the funds directly unto the E-zwich cards of the purchasing clerks on weekly basis as agreed and once that has been done the purchasing clerks will then have to go to a neighboring bank to withdraw funds and then pay the farmer. Volta Region for example has started so we are going to see an increase in the number of payments being done in that regard” he noted.

He added that measures are being instituted to ensure a successful exercise.

“Phase one of the project will mean that the purchasing clerk will collect cash and then pay the farmers. Phase two will be that, instead of paying the purchasing clerk you pay directly to the farmer but before we do that we want to ensure that when the farmers receive their funds on the E-zwich card, they have enough bank outlets. We might also have to do it within communities, ascertain the economic activities and institutions there and ensure that they have points of sale device so that the farmer can go and shop. The various depots would also have a database of cocoa farmers and their E-zwich card numbers. So as soon as you see the name, you just pay the farmer,” he concluded.

The initiative is part of moves by GHIPSSS to encourage the use of electronic transactions and thereby achieve the country’s aim of developing a cash-lite economy.

Mallam Escapes Death

Mallam Escapes Death Over Castro Hunt

MALLAM DJETA, a self-styled spiritualist from Nsawam in the Eastern Region nearly got drowned in the Volta estuary at Kewunor near Azizanya at Ada-Foah in the Greater Accra Region. That was when he embarked on a search for Castro and her female companion, Janet Dandu, who had gone missing.
Theophilus Tagoe, who is known in the music industry as Castro and her friend have still not been found – one week after the tragedy had occurred on the Volta Lake where they were alleged to have gotten drowned.
Mallam Djeta, who had travelled all the way from Nsawam upon hearing about the disappearance of the two persons, had claimed that Castro was alive. He arrived at Aqua Safari where he met a team of police personnel and requested for permission to go and rescue Janet and Castro at the estuary since he said they were there.
The spiritualist’s sudden appearance at the hotel from where Castro was said to have rented the Jet ski on that fateful Sunday, restored some hope in most of the sympathizers, indigenes, friends and fans of Castro – including those who do not believe in spiritual things.
He claimed he had three mermaids (‘Maame Water’), but it was only one which could battle a another in the estuary – which he maintained had captured Castro as her spiritual husband who would father her three children over a period of three-years.
But such hope disappeared into laughter and provocation when after an hour-and-a-half Mallam Djeta failed to produce the missing persons, either dead or alive, having recited some incantations.
He entered the estuary after removing his smock and a pair of blue-and-white bathroom slippers, leaving his talismans around his neck.
Mallam Djeta began sinking, with his head and parts of his body showing as a result of a life jacket he had on. He began to scream for help.
After a while, a boat was called to where he was and without wasting time, the spiritualist climbed unto it, panting as if he had returned from a long race.
The spiritualist did not give up on his rescue promise. He   requested for a white ram, four bottles of Schnapps and white-and-red calico to perform some spiritual rites to prevent the mermaid from taking Castro deeper into the water.
He was directed by some angry witnesses to go to Peace Holiday Resort at Ada-Foah where Asamoah Gyan, the Black Stars skipper and his team who came to the area before the incident, were located and nothing was heard from him again.

Violence mars Argentina's World Cup celebration

BY LUIS ANDRES HENAO, ASSOCIATED PRESS : JULY 13, 2014 : Updated: July 13, 2014 11:15pm

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA - JULY 13: Police use a water canon and fire tear gas at Argentine soccer fans that turned violent near the Obelisco de Buenos Aires after their team lost to Germany 1-0 during the World Cup final on July 13, 2014 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Riot police fired tear gas and rubber bullets late Sunday to restrain a group of vandals who disturbed a peaceful rally celebrating Argentina's gutsy performance in a 1-0 loss to Germany in the World Cup finals.
Parents with small children could be seen fleeing in fear after police, who initially remained on the sidelines as jubilant fans poured into downtown Buenos Aires, began chasing down the vandals on motorcycles. The youths, many of them with their faces covered and drinking heavily, responded by hurling rocks, destroying store fronts and even breaking into a theater.
Police said 20 officers were injured and at least 60 people were arrested. The vandals tore down street lights and ripped up the stone from some streets to throw at officers.
The chaotic situation marred what was an otherwise spontaneous show of support for Argentina's national team after its best World Cup run in 24 years.
The center of festivities was the city's iconic Obelisk, where fans traditionally gather to celebrate victory, not defeat. Cars honked staccato rhythms, firecrackers were tossed into the air and fans of all ages jumped in place shouting "Argentina! Argentina! Argentina!" with barely a tear in sight.
"We have nothing to regret, we played first rate," said 53-year-old Horacio Laseiras, carrying his six-year-old daughter on his shoulders.
The two-time world champion entered the title match as the clear underdog after Germany's 7-1 thrashing of host Brazil. But despite complaints about lackluster play earlier in the tournament, the team led by captain Lionel Messi showed grit throughout the match, creating several opportunities to score in the first 90 minutes.
Amid the outpouring of gratitude, there was a hint of frustration that Messi, the four-time world player of the year, didn't turn in a stronger performance.
"Messi still isn't Maradona," said 31-year-old Eduardo Rodriguez, referring to Diego Maradona, who lifted the championship trophy for Argentina in 1986 and led the 'albiceleste' to its last World Cup final, also against Germany, in 1990. "But this here is a party. We're all proud of our warriors."
Businesses had shut down ahead of Sunday's game and Argentines had stocked up on meat to enjoy the game with a traditional asado, or barbeque.
A crowd of about 20,000 people dressed in blue and white colors filled the capital's Plaza San Martin to watch the match on a giant screen, climbing atop lamp posts to get a better view.
"I feel an enormous sadness," 19-year-old Soledad Canelas, carrying a blue-and-white Argentine flag, said after the game. "I had the illusion of seeing Argentina become champion for the first time in my life."
The shot at the title united Argentines otherwise exasperated by one of the world's highest inflation rates, an encroaching debt crisis and a corruption scandal that has penetrated deep into President Cristina Fernandez's inner circle.
Fernandez, whose approval rating has plunged in recent months, kept a low profile during the tournament. She declined an invitation to attend the final, preferring instead to rest ahead of a summit Tuesday, also in Brazil, with leaders from Brazil, Russia, India and China.
She didn't comment on the team's loss but local media reported she had called head coachAlejandro Sabella to offer her support and is planning to welcome the team home on Monday morning.
Despite the pride over their team's performance, many Argentines couldn't hide the pain.
In Rio de Janeiro, more than 70,000 Argentina fans cheered on their team, many having traveled upward of 40 hours by car and seemingly all wearing their team's sky-blue jerseys and chanting day and night.
"This was a trauma. We were going to be able to leave singing songs in victory with the glory of the Cup," said Joao Cuenca, who has an Argentine father and a Brazilian mother. "What happened is nothing short of a disaster."

Israel issues

Israel issues new warning to north Gaza residents ahead of 'short and temporary' campaign

The Israeli air force dropped leaflets Sunday morning calling for the evacuation. A military spokesman told The Associated Press that the campaign would begin sometime after 12 p.m. local time (5 a.m. Eastern Time) Sunday. It was not immediately clear whether the promised action would include ground forces -- a step that Israel has so far been reluctant to undertake.
This is the second time in as many days that Israel has told residents of the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip to leave their homes for their own safety. On Saturday, the military said it was ordering Palestinians in northern Gaza to evacuate "for their own safety."
Gaza's Interior Ministry urged residents in the area to ignore Israel's warnings and to stay in their homes, saying the announcement was Israeli "psychological warfare" and an attempt to create confusion.
Sunday's warning came after Israel's military confirmed that four of its special forces soldiers were injured in clashes during an incursion into northern Gaza to destroy a rocket launching site as both sides ignored a unanimous recommendation for a cease-fire from the U.N. Security Council.
The operation marks the first time that Israeli ground forces have been known to enter Gaza during the current fighting. The military said that the soldiers had returned to Israeli territory and the operation did not appear to herald the start of a larger ground offensive.
The raid came after the Palestinian militant group Hamas claimed responsibility for 10 rockets that were fired at Tel Aviv Saturday. The salvo was the largest barrage of the current fighting to target Israel's second-largest city and financial capital, but caused no damage or casualties.
Earlier Saturday, Israel had announced announced it would hit northern Gaza "with great force" to prevent rocket attacks from there on Israeli cities.
"We are going to attack there with great force in the next 24 hours due to a very large concentration of Hamas efforts in that area," Israel Brig. Gen. Motti Almoz said.
Shortly after the Israel's warning, an Israeli warplane struck the home of the Gaza police chief, Taysir al-Batsh, killing at least 18 people and wounding 50, said Health Ministry official Ashraf al-Kidra. He said worshippers were leaving the mosque after evening prayers at the time of the strike and that some people are believed to be trapped under the rubble.
In New York, the U.N. Security Council called unanimously for a cease-fire, while British Foreign Minister William Hague said he will discuss cease-fire efforts with his American, French and German counterparts on Sunday. In addition, the Arab League said foreign ministers from member states will hold an emergency meeting in Cairo on Monday.
The statement approved by the Security Council's 15 members calls for "the reinstitution of the November 2012 cease-fire," which was brokered by Egypt, but gives no time frame for when it should take effect.
The press statement,  which is not legally binding but reflects international opinion, is the first response by the U.N.'s most powerful body, which has been deeply divided on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Hamas has fired nearly 700 rockets and mortars at Israel this week and said it wouldn't be the first to cease fire.
In a sign that the conflict might widen, Israel fired into Lebanon late Saturday in response to two rockets fired from there at northern Israel. There were no injuries or damage, but Israel fears militant groups in Lebanon may try to open a second front.
Israel has said it's acting in self-defense against rockets that have disrupted life across much of the country. It also accuses Hamas of using Gaza's civilians as human shields by firing rockets from there.
Critics said Israel's heavy bombardment of one of the most densely populated territories in the world is itself the main factor putting civilians at risk. Sarit Michaeli of the Israeli human rights group B'Tselem said that while using human shields violates international humanitarian law, "this does not give Israel the excuse to violate international humanitarian law as well."
The Israeli military said it has targeted sites with links to Hamas, including command centers, and that it issues early warnings before attacking. But Michaeli said civilians have been killed when Israel bombed family homes of Hamas militants or when residents were unable to leave their homes quickly enough following the Israeli warnings.
Before dawn Saturday, an Israeli missile hit the Palestine Charity, a center for the physically and mentally disabled in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya, said its director, Jamila Alaiweh.
The center is home to nine patients, including four who were spending the weekend with their families away from the center, said Alaiweh. Of the remaining five, two were killed in the strike and three suffered serious burns and other injuries, the director said. A caregiver was also injured, she added.
The director said one of the women killed had cerebral palsy and the other suffered had severe mental handicaps. Among the three wounded patients were a quadriplegic, one with cerebral palsy and one with mental disabilities, she said.
The missile destroyed the bottom floor of the two-story building. Rescuers sifted through the pile of rubble, pulling out a folded-up wheelchair and a children's workbook.
An Israeli military spokesman, Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, said he was looking into the incident.
An army statement said that from Friday morning to Saturday morning, Israel targeted 158 targets "affiliated with Hamas terrorism" in Gaza, including dozens of rocket launchers and a mosque where Hamas stored rockets and weapons.
Israel also targeted several civilian institutions with presumed ties to Hamas, widening its range of targets. Palestinian officials said this included a technical college, a media office, a small Kuwait-funded charity and a branch of an Islamic bank.
The Israeli military did not mention these institutions in its statement Saturday, saying only that in addition to the military targets, it struck "further sites."
Al-Kidra, the health official, said Israeli strikes raised the death toll there to more than 156, with over 1,060 wounded. Among the dead was a nephew of Ismail Haniyeh, a top Hamas leader, who was killed in an airstrike near his home, Hamas officials said.
Though the exact breakdown of casualties remains unclear, dozens of the dead also have been civilians. Israel has also demolished dozens of homes it says are used by Hamas for military purposes.
"Am I a terrorist? Do I make rockets and artillery?" screamed Umm Omar, a woman in the southern town of Rafah whose home was destroyed in an airstrike. It was not immediately known why the building was targeted.
At Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, 4-year-old Shayma al-Masri was in stable condition Saturday with shrapnel injuries to her upper body.
Her mother, a 17-year-old brother and a 14-year-old sister were killed earlier this week when two missiles struck as the family walked in their neighborhood, said Shayma's aunt Samah. The girl is left with her father and three older brothers.
The aunt, addressing Israeli mothers, said children are precious on both sides of the conflict.
"You can hide your children in the bomb shelters when you need them, but where do I hide her (Shayma)?" she said. "When the child comes to hide in my arms and I find the entire house falling on top of us what do I do then? Just like you fear for yourselves we fear for ourselves too. Just like you fear for your children we fear for our children too."
The "Iron Dome," a U.S.-funded, Israel-developed rocket defense system, has intercepted more than 130 incoming rockets, preventing any Israeli fatalities so far. A handful of Israelis have been wounded by rockets that slipped through.
The frequent rocket fire has disrupted daily life in Israel, particularly in southern communities that have absorbed the brunt of it. Israelis mostly have stayed close to home. Television channels air non-stop coverage of the violence and radio broadcasts are interrupted live with every air raid siren warning of incoming rockets.
The frequent airstrikes have turned bustling Gaza City into a virtual ghost town during the normally festive monthlong Ramadan holiday, emptying streets, closing shops and keeping hundreds of thousands of people close to home where they feel safest from the bombs.
The outbreak of violence follows the kidnappings and killings of three Israeli teenagers in the West Bank, and the kidnapping and killing of a Palestinian teenager in an apparent revenge attack.

What really happened in the garden of eden

St. Augustine thought he had found
The sin by which mankind is bound:
"It was not," so said he,
"The fruit on the tree,
But the lust of the pair on the ground."
Was he right?

The Serpent Seed
THE ORIGINAL SIN

WHAT WAS ACTUALLY THE ORIGINAL SIN
THAT BROUGHT ABOUT THE FALL OF MAN?
1. "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." — Matthew 26:28
Why must the Precious Blood of the sinless Person of Jesus Christ be shed to purchase our salvation if the Fall of Man was caused merely by Adam's disobedience to a commandment? The Bible says that "as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" (Rom.5:12). Why must sin fall on every man in every generation, when the Scriptures clearly mention in Exodus 20:5; 34:7; Numbers 14:18 and Deuteronomy 5:9 that God would visit "the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation" only?
Now, what was the iniquity, or sin, of our father Adam and mother Eve that it fell not only unto the fourth generation but on all generations?
If you were to study and meditate for a little while, you will notice that it must be something that Adam and Eve had committed that could be passed down from one generation of people to another, and upon all generations up till this time.
2. Why did God choose His Own BLOOD; why not some other substance?
Traditional and denominational-minded preachers have made people to believe that the Fall of mankind was merely the result of disobedience by Adam and Eve to God's commandment not to eat, or partake, of the fruit of a LITERAL TREE. If the cause of the Fall was the partaking of the fruit of the forbidden literal tree then Redemption must come by eating the fruit of another literal tree which God would have to provide, for His law requires thus: "thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe" (Exo.21:23-25 cf. Rev.13:10).
As God did not provide another literal tree whereby Adam and Eve might eat of its fruit for eternal life, it stands to reason that it was not the eating of the fruit of a literal tree that caused the Fall of the whole human race. Truly, it was disobedience to a commandment of God, but a serious act was committed such that it was necessary for the Blood of Jesus Christ to be shed as a Remedy for the Fall. Thus, the blood of man must have been involved in the Fall or else God would not have required the BLOOD of ANOTHER PERSON — His Only Begotten Son — to be shed to remit the sins of mankind. (Read Hebrews 9:22 and Matthew 26:28 — blood for blood.) Therefore it stands to fact that it takes the Pure, Sinless, Eternal LIFE BLOOD of Christ Jesus to cleanse the perverted, sinful DEATH-BLOODED NATURE in mankind. Read 1 John 1:7; Romans 3:24-25.
3. LIFE is in the blood, or blood is life, according to Genesis 9:4; Leviticus 17:4; Deuteronomy 12:23; John 6:53. Man was originally ordained to have LIFE (eternally) but instead DEATH reigns supreme. Read Romans 5:12,14,17.
Why? How? Because a substance totally foreign (not of the same kind) to the pure blood was introduced into the body of God's highest creation — Man. Since then DEATH has a firm grip on Man.
Any mixture of kinds is contrary to God's law. God has placed a law in His creation that the earth would bring forth the vegetation, fishes, birds and animals "after their kind". This phrase is repeated five times in Genesis 1 (verses 11,12,21,24,25). To go against this law is to produce something not of its own kind. This is sin in the eyes of the Lord God. Hybridizing causes death. It cannot reproduce LIFE. In the animal kingdom, science has crossed or hybridized the mare and the donkey, producing the mule; the lion and the tigress, producing the liger; the zebra and the she-ass, producing the zedonk: and all these hybrids are sterile (unfruitful, without life). They cannot reproduce life physically because they are products which are against the natural law of God. Therefore death (sterility) reigns in their kind physically. (In type, we can see why there is only death in all denominational churches. They have committed spiritual fornication by mixing the Pure Word of God with the words of man-made creeds, dogmas and traditions.)
So, as a result of that sinful act of perversion — the introduction of a substance, not of its own kind, into the bloodstream — DEATH reigns in mankind spiritually. That substance, which carried the Satanic traits, was the blood gene of the Serpent (who was demonically influenced).
• Note: Adam was a son of God, and he was to bring forth sons and daughters of God "after his kind" unto God. There would not be, nor could there be, one bit of Satan's traits, such as lying and murdering, in them. Man was the only creature created in the image and likeness of God. His creation was in two phases. Read Genesis 1:26-28 very carefully. Adam was first created a spirit in the image of God and His Holy Angels. He was in the likeness of God and His Holy Angels when he became a living soul after God fashioned him a body of dust (Gen.2:7). And as the commandment for Adam to replenish the earth was issued to him immediately after he was created a spirit, it shows us that God dealt with him primarily in his standing as a spiritual being, a son of God. Hence, when sin came, spiritual death was imputed upon him.
How true it is that life is in the blood. All man are born sinners and have a perverted nature. We lie, we cheat, we covet. We do all manner of evil works. This is because of the serpentine nature that is in the blood. We live a sinful life because of the sinful nature and life that is in the blood. Therefore, we need to be BORN AGAIN of the Spirit of Jesus Christ Who had shed His Pure Sinless Blood for us. We need to apply His Blood onto our heart so that His Life is released on us. Only then would we change. We would have a new heart, a new life (because of His Blood). The Life of Christ comes in and we live anew. (That's what Paul teaches in Rom.7 & 8.) Truly, the LIFE is in the BLOOD. Hence, the shedding of the Blood of Christ is as an atonement of our sins.
4. "Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." — Isaiah 7:14
"Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise; when as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost." — Matthew 1:18
Why must Jesus Christ bypass ordinary human conception and be Virgin Born?
Many Christians do not really know the answer to the question. To them, it seems that it was "just a proof" that Jesus Christ was a Son of God. Nevertheless, the reason should now be obvious to you if you have seriously studied the preceding paragraphs.
The blood of man was involved in the Fall. Therefore God had to choose BLOOD in his Redemption plan as His Own law requires it (Gen.9:6; Exo.21:23-25 cf. Heb.13:12). Jesus Christ had to bypass ordinary human conception and be Virgin Born because the blood of man is sinful (polluted) before God. If Jesus was born by ordinary human conception, He would surely be "shapen in iniquity; and in sin" (Psa.51:5). Then the work to redeem mankind would fail, for God requires only PURE innocent BLOOD.
In the Old Testament, God required the innocent blood of certain animals to be shed for the atonement of the soul. Read Leviticus 17:10-14. The BLOOD of Jesus Christ must need be INNOCENT to be accepted for the atonement of our souls (Mat.27:4; Eph.2:13; Rom.3:24, 25; 1Jhn.1:7).
So we see then that the whole genetics belonged to God alone. God had caused Jesus to be virgin born for a purpose: that His Blood might be Pure and Sinless in order to redeem mankind. It was totally a new creation, so to speak, to bring about a "new heart" and a "new spirit" for the repentant souls as prophesied in Ezekiel 36:26-27. Jesus Christ was God's ultimate conception in the Master Plan of God.
And because of the prophecies and promises of God as spoken through His prophets, God provided the genealogical records to correctly identify the Saviour. That's the purpose of the genealogy of Jesus Christ.
5.

Since blood was involved in the Fall of man, SEX must be the gateway to it. If SEX was not involved in SIN, why did Adam and Eve sew fig leaves together and make themselves apron to cover their nakedness? (Gen.3:7). And why was the female sexual organ cursed by God that her SORROW and CONCEPTION were greatly multiplied? (Gen.3:16).
Those of you who believe that SIN came by the eating of a literal fruit (whether apple, pear or whatever), have you ever wondered why the sexual organ was covered and cursed rather than the mouth if it was indeed the mouth which was involved in the act of SIN? Was not it strange for Adam and Eve to cover their sexual organs instead of their mouths? It could not be any clearer that the sexual organ was the guilty member of the body in the act of eating of that Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil! And they were trying to cover up their guilty parts! — "Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?" (Gen.3:11). Why did God (and why should He) curse the female sexual organ when the act was the eating of a literal fruit (if it was indeed a literal fruit) as the denominational churches would have you believe?
Man's sexual organ was not cursed because "Adam was not deceived". Eve was the transgressor (1Tim.2:14). However, the ground was cursed for Adam's sake. Since then man has to toil and till the ground, struggling against thorns and thistles, for his food (Gen.3:17-19).
6. In Genesis 3:15, God having cursed the Serpent, said to him:
"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
Most Christians, in spiritualizing Genesis 3:15, can only see that "her seed" prophetically refers to the "seed of the woman" — Jesus Christ born of the Virgin Mary, and that Christ would crush and defeat Satan who could only bring temporary suffering to Him. They either fail to see or choose to disregard the first part of this dual prophecy. God had put enmity between the Serpent and Eve, and also his seed and her seed — BOTH SEEDS, NATURAL AND PHYSICAL. ("Thy seed" is what stumped many Christians. "Thy seed" is the "seed of the Serpent" — Serpent's Seed. The Serpent had a seed!) Eve had a natural seed — "her seed" — Abel, and so had the Serpent his natural seed — "thy seed" — Cain. And there was enmity between them concerning their faith in God. 7. The genealogy of a person is traced to the side of the man (the father) because the blood line (or descent) comes through the male cell. But why does not the Bible tell us that Adam was the father of all living instead of stating that Eve was "the mother of all living"? (Gen.3:20). Does not this show that Cain was not a child of Adam but of Eve and the Serpent? And consider why Adam so named the first son of Eve Cain. Cain means acquisition, because he was not Adam's begotten son; he was merely an acquired son. Also, Genesis 4:1 states only one act of union between Adam and Eve, but two children were born. Yet, it does not record the two as twins. Whenever twins of the same father were born they are specifically stated in the Scriptures. Read Genesis 25:24; 38:27.
• Note: All life, big or small, good or evil, comes from God (Isa.45:7). Thus, Eve was able to say that she had "gotten a man from the Lord" (Gen.4:1).

Undoubtedly, Cain was not the seed of Adam. He was clearly the seed of the Serpent.
If Cain was a son of Adam, who was a son of God, why did he kill Abel (Gen.4:8) since the characteristic traits of God are righteous? Would God's righteousness turn to unrighteousness in Cain to kill and to destroy life? Read Luke 9:56; Gen.18:23-28; 1 John 3: 15-16. (Remember: the law of God states that every living seed shall bring forth after its own kind (Gen.1:11-12, 21, 24-25 cf. 1:26).
If Cain's murderous act was not from God, then from whom did Cain inherit that trait? 1 John 3:12 reads "...Cain was of that wicked one and slew his brother."
Who then was the wicked one, the originator of murder? Jesus said that "the devil was a murderer from the beginning" (Jhn.8:44). He was the one who injected the murderous spirit and other evil traits into Cain through the Serpent.
9. What about Cain's lie: "I know not..."? (Gen.4:9). Where did it come from? John 8:44 has the answer: the Devil is the father of lies. Also where did Cain get his violent temper that he withstood God so — "Am I my brother's keeper?!"?
Not only did Cain show those two traits, but he also manifested a "NO REPENTANCE" nature which further proved that his life, prior to the murderous act, must have been quite disobedient.
10. The birthright belongs to the firstborn alone (Gen.43:33; 48:8-19). Why was Cain, who was the firstborn (Gen.4:1), not mentioned in the book of the generations of Adam (Gen.5) and in the genealogy of Jesus Christ (Luk.3:23-38)? (Notice: Esau, who was the firstborn of Isaac, was not mentioned in the genealogy Jesus Christ because he sold his birthright to Jacob — Genesis 25:29-34. Abel was not listed because he was murdered (that stopped the lineage), and Seth was the substitute to bring about the descendants of the Adamic Race.)
Jude 14 states that Enoch was the seventh from Adam. If Cain was of Adam, Enoch could not have been the seventh; he should be the eighth counting from Adam.
However, nowhere in the Bible is Cain referred to as a son of Adam.
All the above points conclusively proved that not only was the commandment of God broken, but that blood was also involved in the Fall through sexual fornication which resulted in the birth of the seed of the (Satan-possessed) Serpent — Cain.
Cain was not the seed of Adam; he was truly the seed of the Serpent as stated in the Scriptures in Genesis 3:15 and 1 John 3:12. He was a bastard. He was a seed that was not planted by the Almighty God but Satan.
Sexual fornication had its beginning in the Garden of Eden. Since then "filthy" sex is rampant everywhere. Satan is a Pervert ("Perverter") and from him sprang three great evils that blanket the whole world today — Sexual Perversions, Lies (including so-called white lies) and Murders. They were found manifested in the land of Eden. Since then, they have been on the increase, with added evil attributes, in every generation.
11. If the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was a literal fruit tree from which the first couple had partaken of its fruit that caused the Fall of Mankind; and also, if the Tree of Life was a literal fruit tree that man might partake to have Eternal Life, then where are both these trees today, since God did not destroy them? (There is no record in the Sacred Scriptures that they were destroyed.) If the trees were literal, it would be most logical to believe that the Tree of Life should be on earth somewhere in the region of the Garden of Eden (Gen.2:10-14) so that man may partake of its fruits in order to have Eternal Life, isn't it? If that be so, (a) where is that Tree of Life? and (b) why must Christ die to give us life through the shedding of His BLOOD?
• Note: In Egyptian mythology, the Tree of Life is the fig tree. Obviously, you do not believe that, or do you?

In checking the [two] blood lines (or lineages) of Adam and the Serpent, we will notice plenty of differences between their descendants.
1. Genesis 4:2 records that "Cain was a tiller of the ground". He was just like his father, the Serpent, who tilled the ground as a servant of Adam. Man was said to "till" the ground (Gen.2:5) only through his servant, the Serpent. Notice that Man was commanded by God to subdue the earth and to have dominion over all creatures of the earth that God had placed under his authority (Gen.1:28). After the Fall, Adam had to till the ground himself (Gen.3:23) when he lost his Serpent-servant whom God had cursed to become a snake.
The Scriptures could not be any clearer in describing what the Serpent originally was. Yet, the Truth is actually hidden from the wise and the prudent man (Isa.29:14 cf. 1Cor.1:19; Luk.10:21). Observe that the Serpent was the highest and most intelligent of all beasts. He was also more subtle. He was not loathsome. Of all creatures of the field the Serpent was the only beast that could talk and communicate with Adam and Eve (Gen.3:1). Undoubtedly, He was an upright creature, very much like man but was not created in the image and likeness of God to be a son of God as Adam was (Gen.1:26). He was under the control of Adam, a son of God, to do as Adam commanded him. He was Adam's servant. (Perhaps the Serpent was like the Prehistoric Man, maybe better looking, who existed long before Modern Man — the present Adamic race — was created some 6,000 years ago.)
So Cain was like his father — the Serpent — a tiller of the ground. But "Abel was a keeper of sheep" (Gen.4:2) like his father Adam who kept animals under his hand (that is, his authority).
2. Abel, being the son of Adam, the son of God, had the true revelation of the Fall. That revelation enabled him to sacrifice the firstlings of his flock (Gen.4:4). He knew what had happened in the Garden. He knew that blood was involved and blood must be shed. (At least two animals were sacrificed by God Who made coats of skins to clothe Adam and Eve (Gen.3:21).)
Cain, being the son of the Serpent, had no such revelation as Abel had; he brought forth an offering of vegetables, fruits, flowers, and suchlike products of the ground (Gen.4:3). Now, paganism can be traced back to Cain. It is Cain's religion.
3. Cain manifested his father's traits which were derived from Satan — murder, lies, and violent temper (Gen.4:8,9). Read John 8:44.
4. The genealogy of Cain as recorded in Genesis 4:16-24, shows us what kind of people the Cainites were like.
Lamech, the great, great, great grandson of Cain practised polygamy by taking two wives (Gen.4:19). From whom or where did he get such a "revelation"? (Read what God had commanded through the prophecy of Adam in Genesis 2:23-24 concerning marriage.) Like his great, great, great grandfather Cain, Lamech also committed murder (Gen.4:23).
Cain's people were great people. They were knowledgeable in the things of the world, they were inventors, builders of great cities and big monuments, and also great businessmen (cf. Gen.4:17-22).
5. After Enos was born to Seth "then began men to call upon the name of the Lord" (Gen.4:26). This verse has often been misinterpreted by most Bible readers. Ancient Jewish records rendered that they (that is, the Cainites) "began profanely to call upon the name of the Lord. This shows us that the Cainic people had drifted off from whatever little knowledge of the true spirit of worship, which they might have learned from their father Cain, into idolatrous worship. They invoked the Holy Name of Jehovah God in their idol worship. Idol worship is also traced back to that time.
6. Genesis 5 records Adam's lineage right up to Noah. They were simple people. They maintained their spirit of true worship of Jehovah. History tells us that they were mainly shepherds. In this genealogy of Adam, you will notice that there is no record of any Satanic trait manifested in the descendants as each firstborn was a pure blooded son of Adam, the son of God. (Only firstborn were recorded because of the birthright.
There is also no record of any polygamous marriage, lying, killing, or any other evil works of the flesh. Sin was only imputed upon Adam after the Fall. Therefore he and all his people had only imputed sin (DEATH penalty) upon them. They did not possess any inherited evil.
Questions: What could we say about the evil attributes of Cain and his descendants? Why was Cain's and his descendants' nature so vastly different from Seth's and his descendants' if they were all from the same stock (the same father, Adam)?

• A-1. THE TWO PHYSICAL AND NATURAL SEEDS OF GENESIS 3:15
The word "seed" is from the Hebrew word "zera" which means "seed, fruit, plant, posterity", from "zara" meaning "bear, conceive seed". The same word in Greek is "sperma", which means "that which is sown, the germ of anything, children, offspring, posterity, progeny, descendants". The word "zera" is translated as "posterity" in the Lamsa Translation, and "offspring" in the Amplified Translation and the New Berkeley Version.
Modern theologians may maintain that the woman does not have any seed and that it is biologically impossible for the woman in Genesis 3:15 to have any seed. Yes, it is a scientific fact that a woman does not have any seed. However, the "seed" in Genesis 3:15 refers to that seed which the woman had been impregnated with by Adam as opposed to the seed implanted in her by the Serpent. Because Eve came forth from Adam's side, she was thus a part of Adam. Therefore that which was Adam's seed was rightfully also Eve's seed, which was Abel. And Cain, who was not of Adam, was not her seed in any way. Hence, Eve was only able to say that she had "gotten (not begotten) a man from the Lord" (Gen.4:1). Cain was the seed of the Serpent. The Serpent, in seducing Eve, intruded on Adam's garden (cf. Song of Solomon 4:12,16; 5:1; 6:2) and implanted that physical seed. Eve, in eating of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, brought forth the fruit of Death from her womb.
• Note: Jesus Christ was neither of Mary, nor of Joseph. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, not begotten of Mary (cf. Mat.1:16). He was supposedly the son of Joseph (cf. Luk.3:23). Our Lord Jesus was begotten of the Almighty God, our Heavenly Father (cf. Jhn.1:14; Acts 13:33). Hence, the revelation that the ovum of Mary was totally bypassed to bring about the sinless nature of the body of Christ in the Virgin Birth is true. The whole genetics belonged to God alone; not a slightest bit was of the fallen nature of Mary.
The subject of the two seeds of Genesis 3 cannot be suppressed nor can Eve's relation and connection with the Serpent be evaded. For in it we are enlightened on the true doctrine of the Original Sin — that which brought about the Fall of Man. We cannot miss what the Spirit had written concerning the woman's sorrow in conception and in childbirth; and that her desire would be to her husband who would henceforth rule over her. In His divine judgement, God meted the punishment to fit the crime. Why did God employ the pain of childbirth? What is the purpose of using the word "conception"? How about the word "desire"? Anyone who has the spirit of discernment would be able to see and understand what the whole chapter of Genesis 3 is all about.
There is great spiritual blindness among modern theologians. Though they declare that the "seed of the woman" (who was the seed of promise) prophetically refers to Jesus Christ, yet they rule out any progeny from the Serpent. (They are consistent in inconsistency!) How could they deny that the Serpent had his seed when the Word of God specifically stated that both — the Woman and the Serpent — have their respective seeds?
• A-2. THE TILLING OF THE GROUND
If the Garden of Eden was a paradise why must the ground be tilled? This question seems to be in the mind of some people.
The Bible does not give us a picture of a perfect earth with a garden of paradise that Adam and his wife would just spend their time roaming leisurely around it, and doing nothing but luxuriating for all eternity. Although man was not supposed to toil, he was required to work, even as God worked (and is still working). He was commanded to "be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over" all the creatures.
We read in the Scriptures that God rested on the seventh day from all His work. Ecclesiastes chapter 3 tells us that there is a time for everything. The heavenly body of light is a regulator of seasons for the earth. In the coming Millennial Reign of our King, the Lord Jesus Christ, there will be work for His Bride(-wife), the Elect. There will also be work for everyone to do in the New Heaven and New Earth. Work (activity) has always been a part of God's plan of creation.
Adam was commanded to subdue the earth. The earth must be tilled (or cultivated) before it could be subdued. Adam, as a son of God, had the authority over all the creatures of the earth. Adam was not created to be a tiller of the ground. A son of God is not created to toil; he is a child of God. The Serpent-kind was created to be subjected to him to do the tilling. But when sin was imputed upon Adam, he lost his authority and all his privileges. He also lost his Serpent-servant. To obtain his food, Adam not only had to till the ground himself, but also had to toil against the thorns and thistles which the ground brought forth as a result of God's curse upon it.
In His Great Plan, the Will of God, which was foreordained before the foundation of the world, is expressed thus — "For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God." — Romans 8:20-21

6
CONCLUSION
In God's original plan, Adam and Eve were supposed to produce sons and daughters of God unto God (cf. Gen.1:26-28, 2:21-24). However, Satan sent the Serpent to seduce Eve and perverted the bloodstream by injecting his evil traits into the Serpent's seed which fused with Eve's egg (ovum) and produced Cain, who was his son, vicariously. Cain bore the full spiritual characteristics of Satan and the animalistic (sensual, fleshly) characteristics of the Serpent.
Thus, two blood lines (that of Cain, and Seth who replaced Abel; Seth means "substitute") were then presented. These two blood lines were distinct up to the period before the Flood. Noah was the last of the firstborn of Seth's lineage. His wife was either a Cainite or a hybrid. She bore him three sons, Japheth, Ham and Shem. And "these were the three sons of Noah and of them was the whole earth overspread" (Gen.9:19).
7
WHAT WAS THEREFORE THE ORIGINAL SIN?
It was Satan who possessed the Serpent who planted his seed in Eve by sexual fornication with her. It was by this means that Satan injected his evil and sinful traits into the human race. And it was that seed of the Serpent which had corrupted mankind and caused their relationship with God, the Creator, to plunge to a debased level, both physically and spiritually.

Netherlands vs Argentina semifinal review: Too smart to be crazy

Argentina oust Netherlands on penalties to reach their first final since 1990.
messi2_2970117b_0.jpg
The second semi-final turned into sticky standoff with both teams being too good to allow their opponents penetration in the box. Both Netherlands and Argentina have been paving their ways through play-off stage with solid defensive display. However, after watching Brazil debacle the previous night, probably the managers ordered their players not to get involved in any sorts of attacking adventures to avoid opening space back in defense. In 120 minutes the teams managed just eight! shots on target. Mind you, with Lionel Messi, Arjen Robben, Gonzalo Higuain, Robin Van Persie, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Wesley Sneijder and a whole bunch of other talents on the pitch.
Argentina came close to opening the score in the second half as the Turkish referees, guided by infamous Cuneyt Cakir, waved off Gonzalo Higuain’s onside goal. Rodrigo Palacio failed to put the ball past Jasper Cilessen with clumsy header. Holland’s only chance in Arjen Robben’s attempts was denied by brilliant Javier Mascherano. That was probably it for 120 minutes of a game watched by millions of people worldwide. Louis Van Gaal, who impressed with his ability to rotate players and alter tactical schemes at the World Cup, opted not to repeat the Krul trick against Argentina and lost. Jasper Cillessen failed to deny any of the penalties, while Ron Vlaar and Wesley Sneijder missed their chances to score. Argentina are now set for 1990 World Cup final replay against Germany.
goll_arg_0.jpg
Last night we witnessed ultimate defensive performance that would take any catenaccio adept to ecstasy. The teams simply proved too strong to allow their opponents anything spectacular. If the frist semi-finals was a nuclear bomb, a night that will stand as one of the most humiliating and glorious nights in football history, the second will vanish in the haze of vain attempts to remember a single moment of brilliance. They were just too smart to be a littte crazy. Only the crazy get in history books.

Carmelo Anthony Said to Agree to Re-Sign With the Knicks

Carmelo Anthony, a seven-time All-Star, has appeared in 13 playoff series over the course of his 11-year career, with his team winning just three of them. Credit Jason Szenes for The New York Times

LAS VEGAS — Nine months of nearly daily speculation about Carmelo Anthony’s future came to an end Saturday when he agreed to re-sign with the Knicks, according to a person with firsthand knowledge of the negotiations.
Anthony, one of the N.B.A.’s elite scorers, made his decision one day after LeBron James sent tremors across the league by agreeing to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The two players were the top free agents on the market this summer, with the ability to alter the landscape of the league depending on where each wanted to play.
It was not immediately clear if Anthony had signed a contract, or what the terms of a new deal were. By agreeing to return — a move first reported by The Daily News and Yahoo — Anthony positions himself as the cornerstone of the franchise for years to come. The Knicks declined to comment.
Anthony was eligible for a contract that would pay him nearly $130 million over five years, more than any other team could offer, according to league rules. Such a lucrative deal comes fraught with risk, though. Anthony, 30, is banking on the notion that Phil Jackson, newly installed as the team’s chief decision-maker, can help turn the Knicks, one of the league’s perennial underperformers, into a contender with the clock ticking on Anthony’s career.
The Knicks, too, are making a substantial investment in a player who has not always elevated the play of his team. Anthony, an elite scorer and a seven-time All-Star, has appeared in 13 playoff series over the course of his 11-year career, with his team winning just three of them.
Late last month, Anthony opted out of the final two years of a contract that would have paid him more than $23 million next season. On July 1, he officially became a free agent, enabling him to be courted by several teams, including the Chicago Bulls. And now, after days of deliberating, he has decided to stay put.
Kenyon Martin, a free agent who played for the Knicks last season, said he was not surprised to learn that Anthony was re-signing with the team.
“He wants to win a championship in New York,” Martin said before the Knicks’ summer league team faced the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier this week, Jackson was optimistic about Anthony’s remaining with the team. Speaking with reporters at the Knicks’ summer league practice in Las Vegas, he said that he felt “really good” about the meeting he had with Anthony in Los Angeles on July 3.
“We really struck a chord,” Jackson said Thursday. “The two of us, I think, feel really passionately about what we’re trying to get accomplished.”
Last season, Anthony assembled one of the finest statistical seasons of his career. He averaged 27.4 points and a career-best 8.1 rebounds while playing 38.7 minutes per game, the most in the league. Yet the Knicks finished with a 37-45 record, out of contention for a playoff berth in a weak Eastern Conference.
The team was hindered by injuries, and Mike Woodson, who was dismissed as coach after the season, had made a series of questionable decisions. But even before the season began, Anthony had stated his desire to test free agency — a story line that ballooned into a distraction, overshadowing a season that quickly turned sour.

As a free agent for the first time, Anthony embarked on a three-day, four-city tour of potential destinations. The Bulls pitched him on the notion of joining Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, making an elite threesome that could vie for championships. It was much the same message from the Houston Rockets, with Dwight Howard and James Harden in the fold. Anthony also visited with Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, before meeting with officials from the Los Angeles Lakers.
Before he began the process, Anthony emphasized that winning was most important to him at this stage of the career. So the Bulls figured to be a favorite for his services. They would have been a ready-made contender with Anthony, but one problem was money: They could not offer as much as the Knicks, as they were restricted by the collective bargaining agreement and by their payroll. Barring a sign-and-trade deal, which would have required Jackson’s cooperation, the Bulls could offer Anthony only a contract worth a little more than $70 million over four years.
Ultimately, the Knicks still proved to have the most allure, and the most available cash for Anthony, who met with Jackson and other team officials after his meeting with the Lakers. In the end, Anthony, who has a home in Los Angeles, took more than a week to weigh his options before settling on a return to New York.
Jackson had been making moves that he hoped would appeal to Anthony and the rest of the team’s players, hiring Derek Fisher as coach (after losing out on his first choice, Steve Kerr, another potential protégé who went to Golden State). Jackson also acquired the veteran point guard Jose Calderon in a trade with the Mavericks. In Calderon, the Knicks have a player who is pass-first, a quality that appeals to the offense-minded Anthony.
The Knicks could endure some growing pains this season, even with Anthony — a reality that Jackson has gone out of his way to acknowledge. But they will have cap space in 2015, and Jackson has been targeting that period as his first real opportunity to chase free agents who could join Anthony.
There will be questions, of course, without many guarantees. Will Anthony buy into Jackson’s renowned triangle offense? Will Fisher be able to navigate the choppy waters of the N.B.A. in his first season as a coach, at any level? Will the team’s complementary parts — Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith among them — play at a more consistent level than they did last season?
There are also concerns about Anthony’s durability. He has absorbed plenty of contact in his career, a product of his playing style as much as anything else. He will be 35 by the end of his new deal, well past the age when most elite players see their skills begin to diminish. Consider Dwyane Wade, 32, whose troublesome knees slowed him considerably in recent seasons, which may have played a small role in James’s departure from the Miami Heat.
However, it was money, not age, that seemed to make Jackson reluctant to initially offer Anthony a maximum contract because, he said, it would limit the team’s financial flexibility. He publicly challenged Anthony to take less, pointing out that it was Anthony himself who, last February, had raised the idea of taking a pay cut from James L. Dolan, the team’s owner, if it would help “build something stronger.”
In the end, Anthony appeared to get the deal he wanted, and the Knicks held onto one of the elite scorers in the game. For both sides, it was a marriage worth saving.
